oh, come ON.
I trust we all got this announcement:
This afternoon, someone called to our attention that a group of people are creating a high number of communities to "squat" on popular/in-demand usernames, then offering to give away, trade, or sell those usernames to the people who want them.
This makes me sad for humanity. It took, what, .02 seconds for someone to start trying to exploit DW?
I can maybe excuse the users who were planning on giving them away. Heck, maybe they even started bulk creating in order to protect the innocent from those who would try to sell the names, so I won't think ill of them. But to the other two categories of exploiters? GRAH.
And, okay, this is so not the point, but ... Is there anyone out there who would actually buy one of these user names off these chuckle heads?
In other news, I should really look into getting a more generic default icon, yeah?
